Accurate Automatic Pass Calling

Accupass is the new system designed to automatically call passing during racing. Lights located along the top and bottom of the system immediately indicate the distance of the pass. If you have ever called passing then reviewed it back on video you know how hard it is to accurately call the passing of any dog. Now with the competition in the top divisions pushing that official 15-second barrier a tool like this could be very useful. Remember the old days before the official NAFA Electronic Judging System (EJS)? Teams had to rely on the line judges for line calling. Now with this system manual pass calling can be a thing of the past too.

Accupass at a Tournment
Fine Tune Your Passing

The system is designed to sit just outside of the official NAFA EJS and to have no effect on the racing or the NAFA timing/judging system. In practice, place the system 6 feet apart in your practice lane to work on fine-tuning your passing. Just imagine if your team can with this instant feedback hit the majority of their passes in the 1 to 2 foot range; then in tournaments they should have a better feel of their passes and how to adjust. The system can even be used to help train your passing callers to improve the accuracy of their calls without the system.

EJS Functions for Practice

The timer and light tree options are now available to make your Accupass into an EJS for use at practice. The electronic light tree will plug into the top of your Accupass and the hand held timer will plug into the Accupass connection panel. Then all you to do is push the hand held start button, and you are ready to race. Both of these options can be added at a minimal cost. Please feel free to see the pricing page for details.

NAFA Approval

The system has NAFA approval for use during warm-ups at tournaments. NAFA may be open to full approval at a later time but needs to have more time to see the system in action to make sure it cannot be considered a training aide. Currently Top Dog Racers has seen a great value in using this system during warm-ups to dial in their passing. I think in the near future you will see these systems popping up across North America to do the same for other major teams.
