What is Flyball?
Flyball is the fastest growing dog sport in the world. Started in California in the late 70's Flyball is continuing its spread across the United States and several other countries. New teams and clubs are popping up all over.
Playing the Game!
Teamwork, Speed, and Precision is the name of the game in the sport of Flyball. Flyball is a four-dog relay race between competing teams. The Flyball course covers 51 feet in length and consists of four hurdles leading to the Flyball box. Each dog must jump the four hurdles, retrieve a ball from the box, an return over the hurdles and cross the finish line. Each dog must be highly trained to work on a team with three to five other dogs and be highly focused amid great distractions. The world record time for four dogs to complete the course is 15.36 seconds.
Who can participate?
Flyball is open to all dogs, mixed or pure bred. To locate a team in your area, go to the Team area of this site.
Who makes up the rules?
There is two governing bodies for Flyball competition in North America, the North American Flyball Association (NAFA®) and United Flyball League International (U-FLITM).
Flyball is governed by the Australian Flyball Association in Australia; the Belgiun Flyball Federation in Belgium; and the British Flyball Association in the United Kingdom. If you know of other governing bodies, please let me know so they can be added.

NAFA® Flyball Plaques
Plaques are awarded and sent out by NAFA® every 6 months. Information for the plaques comes directly from the NAFA database.
The third plaque shown here is awarded as a perpetual award. It is first awarded when a dog reaches 40,000 points. For each 10,000 points the dog earns, a plate is sent out that the owner is responsible for having affixed to the plaque.
